Koslow is a recognized source of innovative quality control instruments that provide reliable, repeatable testing results for the identification and verification of industrial and laboratory materials.

Challenge

To revitalize Koslow’s 46 year old logo while maintaining its existing brand equity. Recognizing that its visual identity still reflected the era it was founded, the company sought an update to keep its competitive edge in today’s economy with a logo that would have a progressive presence without losing its heritage.

Solution

The Koslow identity had been well established through its long history, which gave us a successful start to revitalizing the logo. The solution was based on simplifying the existing logo’s typography to be less decorative and have a more uniform look. We then applied a mark to one of the “o’s” to symbolize the chemical reaction that occurs when using the Koslow products to test the quality of metals. The end result is a distinctive logo that portrays their philosophy of quality and traditional values and the presence needed to stay competitive in the 21st century.
